Ted is a native of Middletown, Ohio and attended Middletown High School where he lettered in Football (cornerback & wide receiver, Basketball (guard) and Track & Field (dashes, high jump & long jump). Ted was selected for the Southwestern District (Ohio) Hall of Fame (1994). He was also a member of the National Honor Society. Middletown High produced legends, such as, Jerry Lucas, Todd Bell, Butch Carter, Cris Carter, and Kyle Schwarber.

The next stop for Ted was Columbia University in New York City. He graduated from Columbia in 1974 (BA Economics) and collected a few honors along the way. In football related matters (cornerback), Ted garnered All Ivy League Honors (2 years); Silver Anniversary All Ivy League (1st Team – 1954 to 1979); Co-Captain; Columbia All Century Team (1st Team – (1900 to 1999); Honorable Mention All-America (2 years). In addition, Ted was honored by Nacoms, a prestigious Columbia Senior Honor Society. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Ted spent the next 20 plus years working for Wall Street Investment banking firms (Salomon Brothers (NYC), Lehman Brothers (NYC) and Bank of America (Chicago & Charlotte, NC). After this, Ted joined the executive search ranks and worked for several top 5 firms in the process. Much of this time was spent working on placing executives and coaches in sports related enterprises. Ted returned to his alma mater, Columbia, where he acted as an internal consultant while working on searches which included the Athletic Director, Football and Basketball (men & women) Coaches as well as direct reports to the Athletic Director. During this time, Ted also interviewed 200 plus tenure track Professors in disciplines across the board to help them overcome the stumbling blocks that had derailed others from achieving this coveted accomplishment.
